Arthur Glew was born in Wombwell in 1883. He died, aged 35, on 25th August 1918 and at the time he was with the 13th Battalion, Rifle Brigade. He is commemorated at the Vis-en-Artois Memorial, Panel 10. He is also remembered on the plaque in St Helen’s Church, Hemsworth.
