Bertram James Walls was in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve when he died on 2nd April 1945 age 24. He is buried in Cambridge City Cemetery Grave 15761.
he was airborne in Lancaster HK655 – 1651 HCU from RAF Woolfox Lodge (next to the A1 in Rutland, the small hamlet of Pickworth). They were on a familiarisation flight when all four engines stalled and the aircraft hit a building on Fiskerton approach.
In some records he is recorded as Flying Officer B J Wallis!

Bertram James Walls was born in the third quarter of 1920 and his birth was registered at Leeds. He was the son of William James Walls, an Accountants Clerk and Barbara (nee Bell) who had married on 6th May 1915 at St Augustine Church, Wrangthorn. At some time the family moved to Knottingley.
