“UNCLE MEETS NEPHEW
Mrs J Wilson of Dickinson’s Yard, Aire Street, Knottingley, has received the news that her son Private Charles Wilson, met his nephew Robert Miller, of Hill Garth, Knottingley, on the former’s birthday on May 14th. They had not seen each other for eighteen months. Charles said he would have liked to celebrate the occasion with a “pint”, but they had to be satisfied with tea, bread, stew, cheese, jam and apples. Bob said it was quite a treat to have bread. They had a good chat and went for a swim, which reminded them of Blackpool. Miller also says that Ted Harrison of Jackson’s Villas, is in the same unit.”
