“IN ITALIAN HANDS
In “The Express” a fortnight ago it was stated that Fusilier Don Gowland of 34, Westfield Road, Knottingley, had been reported by the enemy to be a prisoner of war. Word has now been received from him that he is in Italian hands and is well. Fusilier Gowland is one of four brothers serving with the Forces. The others are Pte W Gowland of the Royal Corps of Signals: Pte J Gowland of the North Hampshire Regt: Sergt A Gowland of the RASC at present stationed in Ireland.”
