There is an inscription on Ernest’s headstone which reads, “At many a lonely outpost such men as he stood fighting for king and country fighting for the good.”
Family Life
Ernest was the son of James Thomas and Florence Robinson, of Crofton. He died on 25th June 1941 when he was 22 years old. His father died 15th October 1943 aged 71. They are buried together.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission have provided information which has enabled his grave to be found in Wakefield Cemetery, beside Doncaster Road.
