“IN JAPANESE HANDS
Mrs G Heald of Springfield Avenue, Knottingley, has received official notification that her son Driver Leonard Heald (RA), who was previously reported missing since February 15th, is a prisoner of war in Japanese hands. Driver Heald who is 24 has been overseas for nearly two years. Before joining the Forces two and a half years ago, he carried on his late father’s coal business in Knottingley.”
